Duke Raleigh Hospital offers a Pre-Operative Orthopaedic Surgery Class for all patients and family members. The class covers what you can expect before, during and after joint and spine surgery.
We will provide you with helpful information, useful tips and answer any and all of your questions.
You will meet your nurse, case manager, physical therapist and the occupational therapist that will be working with you.
This class occurs every Thursday.
PLEASE DISCUSS THIS CLASS WITH YOUR DOCTOR. YOU OR YOUR DOCTOR CAN SCHEDULE THE CLASS.

Increase your confidence in the birthing process by attending a series of classes (four classes -- Tuesday/Thursday -- October 30, November 1,6, & 8, 2012) that includes information and practice sessions on: *Signs and stages of labor *Breathing techniques *Medical Interventions *Pain management options *Positioning for comfort *Postpartum Information *Role of the support person *What to expect in the hospital. Educators trained as Lamaze certified childbirth instructors (LCCE) teach all classes at Teer House. The eight-hour series is available on weekdays or weekends.
