Topics will be group determined and typically cover: managing alone time with the baby, maintaining communication and intimacy with partner; balancing relatives' demands with new families needs; and balancing work and family. We encourage you to bring your baby!

Increase your confidence in the birthing process by attending a series of classes (four classes -- Tuesdays/Thursdays -- September 7, 9, 14, and 16, 2010) that includes information and practice sessions on: *Signs and stages of labor *Breathing techniques *Medical interventions *Pain management options *Positioning for comfort *Postpartum information *Role of the support person *What to expect in the hospital. Educators trained as Lamaze certified childbirth instructors (LCCE) teach all classes at Teer House. The eight-hour series is available on weekdays or weekends. Expectant parents are encouraged to complete the series between their 34-37th week. Register early, space is limited. Call 919-416-DUKE (919-416-3853). Fee - $80
