Increase your confidence in the birthing process by attending a series of classes (4 classes - Tuesdays/Thursdays – July 6, 8, 13 & 15, 2010) that includes information and practice sessions on: *Signs and stages of labor *Breathing techniques *Medical Interventions *Pain management options *Positioning for comfort *Postpartum Information *Role of the support person *What to expect in the hospital. Educators trained as Lamaze certified childbirth instructors (LCCE) teach all classes at Teer House. The eight (8) hour series is available on weekdays or weekends. Expectant parents are encouraged to complete the series between their 34-37th week. Register early, space is limited. Call 919-416-DUKE (919-416-3853). Fee - $80

New Tools for New Dads

Class is designed in discussion group format to provide information for new dads (and dads-to-be) to assist them beginning their own routines with a new baby in the home. Topics will be group determined and typically cover: managing alone time with the baby, maintaining communication and intimacy with partner; balancing relatives' demands with new families needs; and balancing work and family. We encourage you to bring your baby!
