Raising Colon Cancer Awareness

Our goal is to raise funds to educate the public on colon cancer awareness, screening, and prevention.

Colorectal cancer is cancer of the colon or rectum. It is equally common in both men and women -- 153,760 cases were estimated to be diagnosed in 2007, and 52,180 people projected to die of the illness. It is also one of the most easily prevented cancers because it can develop from polyps that can be removed before they become cancerous.

We want to reach everyone in the Durham and surrounding areas to teach them the importance of education and early detection. Many people don’t realize there are tests and procedures to detect colon cancer, and that by simply eating a healthy low fat, high fiber diet; you can reduce your risk for developing colon cancer.
Look forward to seeing you there!
