The purpose of this study is to see if there is a difference between the small airway (smaller part of the lungs) in elderly people with asthma compared to younger adults with and without asthma.
To be eligible to participate in this study, you must be
The study involves three visits which are within approximately four weeks of each other.
On the first visit, you will be asked to do some breathing testing to look at your lung function and review your medical history (four hours).
On the second visit, you will complete the breathing test again to compare with your first visit (three hours).
On the third visit, you will complete a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of your chest (two hours).
You will be reimbursed up to $300 for your participation.
