Do you or does someone you know have an eating disorder?

Would you like to join the effort to find more effective treatments?

If you or one of your family members has an eating disorder and want to help in the search for more effective treatments, join our registry.

Some Facts

Individuals with anorexia nervosa have a 57-fold greater likelihood of premature death due to suicide.

Bulimia nervosa can cause many life-threatening physical symptoms.

Variations of each disease exist at twice the rate of full-blown cases, but all cause the same level of distress and impairment. The seriousness of these diseases makes finding effective treatments for them all the more important.

What Can You Do to Help?

The Duke Center for Eating Disorders performs scientific studies that contribute to better understanding of eating disorders.

New studies come out all the time, but participants can be hard to find. We are currently compiling a database of people with and without eating disorders who would like to participate in future studies.

Membership in the database gives you first access to new studies that may provide monetary compensation and puts you on the cutting edge of clinical research. All your information will be completely confidential, and used only for study recruitment.

Join our registry.
