Aspirin Research Study

Duke Clinical Research Unit is seeking volunteers to participate in a research study to evaluate the effects of four-week aspirin use on platelets and whole blood.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Healthy men and women, age 30 years and older
  • Men and women, age 30 years and older, with type 2 diabetes or coronary artery disease (CAD)

You are not eligible to participate if you have any of the following:

  • History of bleeding disorder or gastrointestinal bleeding
  • Recent surgery
  • Regular cigarette use
  • Aspirin allergy
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding

Study Requirements

Volunteers will take aspirin daily and complete two study visits with blood tests over 28 days.

Study also includes collection of height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate.

Compensation

Participants will be compensated $50 per study visit.
