The art cart is a volunteer-led program that offers patients and their families a chance to explore and express their creativity throughout the cancer journey.
Not only are arts and crafts activities a great source of diversion and distraction, but also they provide an outlet for emotional expression.
People who participate in therapeutic arts activities are shown to significantly lower distress symptoms. Additionally, these activities provide a neutral ground for family members and caregivers to engage with each other.
The cart is stocked with a multitude of supplies and often features a "Project of the Day." Our talented volunteers are skilled in areas such and origami and can even provide lessons on classical dance.
The art cart rounds to rooms on the ninth floor and provides services free of charge.
