  • Chemotherapy Education Class
    Monday, May 20, 2013, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    Learn about chemotherapy and taking care of yourself during your cancer treatment.
  • Gynecologic Oncology Support Group
    Tuesday, May 21, 2013, 6:00 p.m.
    Duke Raleigh Cancer Center offers a GYN/Onc support group designed for any GYN/Onc cancer patient. The group provides a place where patients can meet others going through similar experiences and can gain support and friendship.
  • Guided Relaxation
    Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
    Enjoy deep relaxation, stress relief and benefits of meditation without prior experience. When practiced regularly, these activities lead to a reduction in your everyday stress levels and boost in your feelings of joy and serenity. These guided meditations are located in the Quiet Room on the 0 Level of the Duke Cancer Center. Sessions are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.
  • Chemotherapy Education Class
    Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    Learn about chemotherapy and taking care of yourself during your cancer treatment.
  • Tai Chi
    Thursday, May 23, 2013, 3:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    Tai Chi (TIE-CHEE) uses flowing movements performed in a slow, focused manner and is accompanied by deep breathing. Instructor John Hillson, RN, ONC, CHPN will guide you through this graceful self-paced form of exercise that is now used for stress reduction and for a variety of other health conditions. These sessions are located in the Quiet Room on the 0 Level of the Cancer Center and are held on the 2nd and forth Thursday of the month. No registration is needed.   • Lung Cancer Survivorship Clinic
    Tuesday, May 28, 2013, 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
    The Duke Raleigh Cancer Center's Lung Cancer Survivorship Clinic is the first program of its kind. It is an interactive patient support clinic designed specifically for lung cancer survivors.
  • Chemotherapy Education Class
    Wednesday, May 29, 2013, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    Learn about chemotherapy and taking care of yourself during your cancer treatment.
  • Cooking with Caregivers
    Friday, May 31, 2013, 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
    In addition to treatment, nutrition plays an essential role in the fight against cancer. Join us for this free 30-minute class and learn more about which nutrients can help you, or your loved one, during your treatment.
  • Cancer Pro Bono Legal Program: Know Your Rights
    Friday, May 31, 2013, 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
    Duke Law School and the North Carolina Bar Association, in partnership with the North Carolina Society of Healthcare Attorneys are working together to offer the Caner Pro Bono Legal Program Know Your Rights Series. Law students under the supervision of licensed attorneys will host “Know Your Rights” presentations, which aim to give patients valuable information about employee rights, health insurance and disability insurance rights and advanced care planning issues post diagnosis.
