About Scott Howell and Nana’s Restaurant

Nationally renowned Chef Scott Howell can boast many accolades. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Howell has worked with some of America's premiere chefs including Karen and Ben Barker of Magnolia Grill and at renowned restaurants including David Bouley’s, one of only a few restaurants to receive four stars from the New York Times.

Howell and his recipes have been featured in Food & Wine magazine and on the Travel Channel. His restaurant, Nana's, has been recognized by Esquire magazine as one of the best new restaurants in the country, and Bon Appetit magazine named his other Durham restaurant, Pop's Trattoria, to their "Best of the Year's Hot-Spot" list.

“My mother is a Hodgkin’s disease survivor,” said Howell. “She has dedicated herself to providing assistance and encouragement to others facing cancer. This is just a nice way for me and for everyone at Nana’s to do something that hopefully will make a difference to a lot of people.”
