Join us for an exciting, fun evening to celebrate patients and survivors!
On Friday, October 21, 2011, the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program is hosting the Big Wig Out: an event to celebrate self-expression and self-image. Great music! Great performances! Amazing auction items! Inspiring survivor catwalk!
This 1980s-themed event will benefit DCPSP’s Self-Image Program. The Big Wig Out is a fun way to raise funds, but also to celebrate the importance of self-expression for oncology patients.
Through our self-image program, the DCPSP gives out wigs, hats, turbans, scarves, and other self-image resources to patients undergoing treatment.
Trained volunteers, many who are former patients, work in the shop to offer emotional support to patients undergoing treatment. In addition, the DCPSP offers counseling services for self-image issues.
The Big Wig Out will not only help us fund the current self-image program, but also help us as we prepare to grow this service in the future.
