In its early stages, lung cancer may not cause symptoms. When lung cancer does cause symptoms, they may include:
- Appetite loss
- Bronchitis or pneumonia that keeps coming back
- Cough that won’t go away
- Coughing up mucus with blood in it
- Discomfort in the chest, especially if it is worse when laughing, coughing, or breathing deeply
- Fatigue
- Hoarseness
- Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
- Unexplained weight loss
- Wheezing
Symptoms of Advanced Lung Cancer
When lung cancer becomes advanced, it can cause the following symptoms:
- Bone pain
- Jaundice (yellow tinge to the skin and eyes)
- Lumps near the surface of the body
- Neurological symptoms such as dizziness, weakness or numbness in a limb, headache, or seizures
