Radiation therapy, radiosurgery, and fractionated radiotherapy are available at the Duke Cancer Institute for the treatment of brain tumors.

Radiation (high-energy rays) is used to kill tumor cells, usually following surgery. Radiation is also an option for those tumors that cannot be surgically removed.

Using computer-simulated, three-dimensional images, Duke Cancer Institute radiation oncologists will carefully plan your treatments so as to maximize effectiveness, while minimizing damage.
