What Does This Measure?
In a survey, patients were asked whether hospital staff had discussed the help they would need at home. Patients also indicated if they were given written information about symptoms or health problems to watch for during their recovery.
What Are We Doing to Improve Our Performance?
Duke has enacted several initiatives to improve our performance. These include:
- Patient advocacy and support groups
- Patient-centered service training
- Patient communication boards
- Patient education materials
- Patient rounding
- Patient satisfaction surveys
