What Does This Measure?
The percentage of patients who answered “9” or “10” to the following survey question: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst possible hospital and 10 is the best possible hospital, what number would you use to rate this hospital during your stay?”
What Are We Doing to Improve Our Performance?
Duke has enacted several initiatives to improve our performance. These include:
- HealthView patient portal
- Patient advocacy and support groups
- Patient-centered service training
- Patient communication boards
- Patient education materials
- Patient rounding
- Patient satisfaction surveys
