Search for a Physician
Every Duke University Health System physician has a profile on DukeHealth.org, providing a convenient way for you to find information about your physician – or a way to find a new doctor.
Use our main Physician page to find a doctor by name, location, or by field of medicine.
The physician profiles offer extensive information about physicians including their appointment number, pictures, educational background, research and clinical interests, publications and other important information. This information will help you learn more about the doctor who is going to treat you.
Search by Name
To search for a physician by name, go to the main Physician page and scroll to the middle.
- Type the first or last name of the doctor into the Search by Name box.
- As you begin typing, a box will appear with suggestions about what you are typing.
- If you see the physician you want, click on her name and you will be brought to her profile.
- If you can’t quite remember the name, but know what letter it starts with, you can choose the “Browse by Name” option.
- Simply click on a letter. A list of doctors whose last name starts with that letter will be shown.
- Browse to the doctor you are searching for, click on her name, and you will be taken to her profile.
Search by Service
Searching for doctors by specialty allows you to browse the different departments and divisions of medicine and find doctors working in the field you are interested in.
- To search for a physician who practices within a certain services, scroll to the bottom of the Physicians page.
- Click the arrow next to the “Go” button to see a list of all the patient care services listed on DukeHealth.org.
- Choose a service that you’re interested in and select “Go.”
- You will be brought to a page that lists all of the doctors who offer that service.
- Click on one of the doctors and you will be taken to his physician profile where you will find more information about his location, services, appointment numbers, and career history.
Advanced Search
- To do a more focused search for a physician, select “Advanced Search” under the “Search by name” field. The advanced search allows you to search by name, keywords, gender, specialty, or any combination of those choices.
- Simply enter any of the information that you are looking for or select a specialty that you are interested in, and click “Search.”
The more information you enter, the narrower your search results will be.
You will be taken to a page that lists physicians who meet your search criteria. If you received no results for your advanced search, try selecting fewer options.
