A “class” is defined as a Duke-sponsored event that requires registration through the Duke Referral Center, either online or by calling 888-ASK-DUKE.

To request a new class, use our online form to submit your information.

  1. Enter your contact information. Your information won’t be published; we just need it to contact you in case of changes or questions about the event.
  2. Enter a descriptive title that indicates what the class is about.
  3. In the description field, include a brief synopsis of the class. Information you might want to include: topics covered, schedule of events, things to bring, etc.
  4. Include the name of the speaker or facilitator.
  5. For the location, enter the physical address, including the room number where applicable.
  6. In the date and times field, enter the date and times when the class will occur.
    1. If the class repeats and the information is identical for each class time, enter each date and the corresponding time on a separate line. For instance:
      1. 3/14 at 9:00 a.m.
      2. 4/19 at 11:00 a.m.
    2. If this is a repeating class but each class needs a different description, you need to enter the class separately for each date and indicate the topic in the title field or description field. If you don’t want to enter each repetition separately, you can put a general description of the class and then list the class dates with the corresponding topics for the date in the description field.
  7. Include the length of the class; if you aren’t certain, just make your best guess.
  8. Indicate how many people you can accommodate at your class (including participants and their guests).
  9. Indicate if you want a waitlist created when the class is full.
  10. Let us know how often you’d like updates about class numbers.
  11. List other types of advertising you are doing for the class.
  12. Under class sponsor/organizer, select one of the three options. If you select “Duke Health” the class will show up only on DukeHealth.org site. If you select “Duke Raleigh” or “Durham Regional” it will show up on DukeHealth.org and the other site you indicate.
  13. Select an appropriate subject for the class.  This helps to populate event listings in specific service sections.

If you have a Duke event that does not use the Referral Center for registration, please use our Contact Us form to let us know, and we’ll get in touch with you.

If you wish to make changes to an existing class, contact Teresa Renn via the Consultation and Referral Center contact form.
