Duke's pastoral services include pastoral care and counseling, along with spiritual nurture, to patients, families, and staff throughout Duke University Health System.
We have independent departments at each of our inpatient medical centers:
The Department of Pastoral Services at Duke University Medical Center is the health system's flagship program, offering an array of spiritual programming, 24-hour on-call chaplains, and clinical pastoral education.

Our Multi-Faith Relations Coordinator and members of the department have developed a resource pool of community religious leaders, chaplains, and representatives of world religions and spiritual paths who have volunteered to respond to specific requests for care.
Please contact Chaplain Annette Olsen at 919-684-2834 or olsen007@mc.duke.edu if you have questions or special requests for additional chaplain services, or wish to discuss ways to participate in this voluntary care.
