About Healthy Escapes

Healthy Escapes is a program that was initially developed by a Duke cardiologist and nurse to assist clients with improving their health through medical management and lifestyle modifications.

The program begins with a medical evaluation when needed, and consists of advice from Duke consultants working one-on-one with each client. These experts in nutrition, fitness, stress management and health coaching provide education as well as support and accountability to assist clients in achieving their individual goals.

Healthy Escapes clients range from people who are in good health to those working on goals related to weight loss, fitness, heart disease, high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, loss of mobility, and stress management.

Through the years this program has served clients from around the world who have come to Duke to improve their overall health and well-being. The length of stay can be one week, multiple weeks, or even one year. Many clients take advantage of return visits to refocus on healthy strategies.
