Advanced diagnosis and repair of diseased valves

Duke’s Valvular Heart Disease Program employs a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic tools to treat all patients with valvular heart disease.

Most diagnoses can now be done without the need for cardiac catheterization.

Duke pioneered the catheter-based treatment of valvular heart disease, and continues to advance this field with new techniques for valve repair.

In the near future catheter-based valve replacement will be offered through clinical trial(s).

The surgical program is known for use of minimally-invasive (mini-incision) approaches to valve repair and replacement.
