Physical Therapy

Athletes of all levels and ages can benefit from Duke's physical therapy service, which specializes in assessment and treatment of most musculoskeletal injuries, especially the unique injuries that occur in athletics.

Such injuries include:

  • Elbow and shoulder injuries such as shoulder instability or rotator cuff disorders
  • Joint problems such as injuries to ankle ligaments as well as knee ligaments and cartilage
  • Muscle strains, tendon injuries, and overuse injuries
  • Osteoarthritis

The physical therapy staff is fully integrated with the Sports Medicine clinic and can see patients on the same day as their clinic visit.

Nearly half of the staff is board certified in either sports medicine or orthopaedics. Three have dual licenses in physical therapy and athletic training.

Duke's state-of-the-art facilities include:

  • A heated therapeutic pool with a deep well for non-weight bearing exercises
  • A full complement of weight and aerobic equipment
  • Locker room and shower facilities

Transitional Exercise Program

The transitional exercise program allows clients to continue their exercise at this facility for a nominal monthly fee.

This program allows clients to further maximize their recovery under the management of a licensed physical therapist.
