Need help navigating orthopaedics resources?

You are always welcome to contact one of our orthopaedic practices directly. But, if you would like help navigating Duke University Health System's orthopaedic resources, or if you're not sure which practice best suits your needs, The Duke Consultation and Referral Center can guide you.

Call Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

If you live outside North Carolina’s Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) area or the 919 calling area, call toll-free at 1-888-ASK-DUKE (275-3853). Locally, simply call 919-416-DUKE (416-3853).

When you call 1-888-ASK-DUKE, the specially trained representatives from the Duke Consultation and Referral Center can:

  • Assist you in identifying a Duke doctor with the knowledge and expertise to care for your particular medical condition.
  • Facilitate your initial appointment with a Duke physician, in keeping with your insurance's guidelines for specialty visits and, whenever possible, in the location most convenient for you.
  • Help you determine whether your insurance plan gives you access to Duke.
  • Help answer other questions you may have about care at Duke.
  • Provide information and brochures about clinical services and programs at Duke.
  • Provide information about, and help you register for community events sponsored by Duke, including classes, seminars, health screenings and health fairs.
