Lenox Baker and Cerebral Palsy
Lenox Baker, MD, a former professor at Duke and the first pediatric
orthopaedic surgeon in North Carolina, helped to establish the North
Carolina Cerebral Palsy Hospital in 1952.
The name of the hospital was
subsequently changed to the Lenox Baker Children's Hospital in his
honor. The hospital continues to care for children with disabilities at
Duke University Medical Center.
