Integrative Health Coaching Manager
Kosey is a certified professional coach with a passion for
enabling people to lead lives inspired by what matters most to
them. She joined Duke Integrative Medicine's coaching team in
2004.
Over the last 20 years, her work experience has included a
variety of leadership and service roles. She served as
executive director of the Wellness Council of North Carolina
consulting with more than 200 organizations to enhance employee
health and reduce health care costs. The employee wellness
program she managed at Rex Healthcare merited a Gold Well
Workplace Award and the Governor's Award for Worksite Health
and Fitness. She has also published positive outcomes for a
N.C. state employee health promotion pilot project utilizing
coaching.
She currently shares time between her role with Duke
Integrative Medicine and her private coaching, teaching, and
consulting business. The clients she has worked with, both
individually and in groups, note their increased energy and
improved life balance. She enjoys being part of the evolving
field of coaching and integrating it with mind/body skills to
create better results in health, life, and business.
Her academic credentials include a master's degree in
wellness management with minors in business and counseling from
Ball State University, a graduate certificate in alternative
health and healing from the University System of New Hampshire,
and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Saint
Mary-of-the-Woods College.
She completed coaching and leadership training through the
Coaches Training Institute and is credentialed through the
International Coach Federation.
In addition Kosey is a registered yoga teacher who received
her teaching certification through the Kripalu Center for Yoga
and Health. Her work is grounded in the personal transformation
she experienced through Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, and his
mindfulness-based stress reduction training for health care
professionals in 1995.
