patients battling cancers of the mouth, salivary glands, nasal
cavity, sinuses, throat, larynx, and lymph nodes.
Located within one of the world’s premier academic medical
centers, the Head and Neck Cancer Clinic uses Duke University
Medical Center’s vast resources to employ the most innovative
treatments.
The goal of the program is to ensure that each patient
receives state-of-the-art treatment while maintaining the
highest quality of life throughout treatment and recovery.
Approximately 40,000 men and women are diagnosed with head
and neck cancer each year in the United States.
While many people who develop head and neck cancer use
tobacco or drink alcohol, one-third of the patients treated at
Duke for a head and neck cancer rarely drink and have never
used tobacco.
Head and neck cancer is one of the fastest evolving areas of
treatment and research.
