Anorectal Physiology

Duke's anorectal physiology laboratory offers a number of diagnostic tests that provide important information about the function and anatomy of the anus and rectum.

These studies typically take less than 20 minutes to complete.

The tests we offer include:

  • Anal manometry
  • Rectal volume pressure studies
  • Pudenal nerve terminal motor latency testing
  • Defacography services coordinated through Duke GI Radiology
  • Anal ultrasound
  • Anorectal/pelvic floor biofeedback through Duke Physical Therapy
