Information Session

The information session is intended to be a self-guided introduction to the world of assisted reproductive techniques (ART) for those who have already been seen in our clinic and will be starting a cycle of either in vitro fertilization (IVF) or controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) in the very near future. It is not intended to provide general information about infertility and its treatment (answers to those types of questions can be found throughout the rest of our site--please continue to explore!).

For those starting ART treatment at Duke in the near future, we require that you visit this website, view all of the slides, and answer a few multiple choice questions at the end of the slide show before proceeding with your treatment. (The quiz is not hard, by the way.) The information session contains things that you will need to know ('how to's', 'what ifs', and what some of the risks associated with treatment are) as well as things you'll want to know (how the IVF lab works with some really cool pictures). It is designed to (hopefully) answer any questions that you might have regarding the nuts and bolts of what's ahead.
