Infertility Alternatives

Fertility treatments are not always successful. As one of the alternatives to becoming pregnant, adoption can be very rewarding. There are many options available, including embryo adoption.

At some point you may decide that you do not wish to continue infertility treatments and may choose to remain childfree. It is not unusual for partners to reach this point at different times.

Choosing to remain childfree must be a choice, even though this may not be what you had originally planned. Be certain to explore all of your options including donor cycles and adoption

Mandala Adoption Services is a private, non-profit adoption agency located in Chapel Hill, NC. They have been licensed since 1997 and they provide homestudies and post-placement services to families in North Carolina who are adopting domestically, internationally or a relative adoption. They have international adoption programs in six countries and place fifty children per year.

Childfree-Living Links

There seems to be a distinction between terms on the Internet. Childfree, childless, and childfree-by-choice are some of the more common terms.

Not all of these pages and links pertain to infertility patients. Some of the pages may infer strong desires and opinions for not having children. Many patients undergoing infertility treatments may not agree with all of these opinions.

Review the pages for their intent and target audience. The ideal pages are designed for people who do have desires to have children but are having to cope with the possibility of a lifestyle without children.

The INCIID to has a search engine pulls up information on childfree living as well as discussion groups that allow you to post messages.

The Childfree web ring offers links to a large number of web pages on the subject.

Childless by Choice has compiled information and references that can be a good starting point to learning more.
