Evaluations vary by patient and are based on your individual history and goals. We aim to provide you with diagnostic and therapeutic options tailored to maximize your potential for conceiving.
There is no one best way to treat infertility. You and your physician will work together to find the solution that is right for you. It is essential to the success of the treatment that you are an active and informed participant in the evaluation process.
The basic evaluation may include a physical examination, a progesterone drawn on day 21 of the menstrual cycle, a TSH, semen analysis, and a hysterosalpingogram (HSG).
More detailed evaluation may include a semen profile, pelvic ultrasound, laparoscopy/hysteroscopy, and other endocrinologic tests such as follicle stimulating hormone/ luteinizing hormone, androgens, and prolactin.
The physical exam allows your physician to look for problems such as an enlarged thyroid gland, galactorrhea, abdominal and pelvic masses, and sometimes evidence of endometriosis.
