About Us

Endocrinology services are offered by the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition in the Department of Medicine at Duke University Health System.

Duke University Hospital was ranked 21st in the nation for Endocrinology in 2008 by U.S.News & World Report.

We are a leading referral center for patients with endocrine disease and offer intensive education programs for patients suffering from diabetes.

The division strives to deliver outstanding clinical service to our patients with Endocrine-related disorders, pose questions concerning important issues in our specialty and search for answers through our research efforts and teach other physicians and students aspects of our clinical specialty.

Our programs focus on the most pressing issues we face including diabetes, osteoporosis, lipid management, pituitary and adrenal abnormalities, and thyroid disease.

Members of our division provide consultative care through the VA Consult Service and the Duke Consult Service. In addition, the division offers an outreach endocrine clinic to underserved locales throughout North Carolina (Structure House, Laurinburg, Roxboro)
