Endocrinology services are offered by the Division of
Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition in the Department of
Medicine at Duke University Health System.
Duke University Hospital was ranked 22nd in the nation for
Endocrinology in 2009 by U.S.News
& World Report.
We are a leading referral center for patients with endocrine
disease and offer intensive education programs for patients
suffering from diabetes.
The division strives to deliver outstanding clinical service
to our patients with Endocrine-related disorders, pose
questions concerning important issues in our specialty and
search for answers through our research efforts and teach other
physicians and students aspects of our clinical specialty.
Our programs focus on the most pressing issues we face
including diabetes, osteoporosis, lipid management, pituitary
and adrenal abnormalities, and thyroid disease.
Members of
our division provide consultative care through the VA Consult
Service and the Duke Consult Service. In addition, the division
offers an outreach endocrine clinic to underserved locales
throughout North Carolina (Structure House, Laurinburg,
Roxboro)
