For those participants with limited ability to get away,
Duke Diet & Fitness’s five-day intensive evaluation and
planning program is another option.
This program provides an efficient way for participants to
begin addressing the risks of excess weight and insufficient
physical activity through a thorough evaluation with treatment
recommendations from each professional component: Nutrition,
Fitness, Behavioral Health & Lifestyle Coaching, and
Medical.
You will be provided direction as to the weight
control/lifestyle change strategies most appropriate to your
needs and experience instruction in healthy lifestyle through a
sampling of core
classes.
While you will probably not lose significant weight during
your five-day visit to the Duke Diet & Fitness Center
(DFC), you will experience the nutritional program and fitness
activities we have designed for long-term results, and will
benefit from expert direction from each of the DFC components
in developing a practical plan.
Participants are eligible for the lifestyle coaching
programs and DukeDiet.com following their five-day program
(learn more about free access to
DukeDiet.com). They are also eligible for the return
program after completing a second “new client” week within one
year from their discharge date.
