Duke Children’s Primary Care offers a broad spectrum of health and wellness services for children one to 11 years old.
Well-child visits evaluate your child’s general medical, developmental, and social health, and address age-appropriate issues like immunizations.
Beginning at age three, well-child visits include a vision screenings, and beginning at age four, the visits include both hearing and vision screenings.
After they turn one, children should be seen for well-child visits at 18 and 24 months old. After age two, they should be seen annually.
If your child is sick, and you’re not sure whether he or she should be seen by a doctor, call the Nurse Advice Line at 919-620-5333. (In an emergency, dial 911.)
Nurses are available on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and same-day appointments are usually available to those who call early in the day.
