What’s in your make up?

Most people never look at the ingredients in their make-up. We trust since we are spending so much money on make-up that someone, somewhere must be looking out for us. Unfortunately, that is not the case. In reality one of the main ingredients in make-up is not good for our skin: talc.

Why is talc so bad?

It is a known carcinogenic, irritant, lung asphyxiater, and linked to uterine cancer! So, why are educated cosmetics companies still producing make-up composed of talc? It is cheap. They can make a great profit on a very poor performing cosmetic ingredient. Not only is talc unhealthy for our skin, but it doesn’t even look good. It creases and wears off, clogs pores, and causes acne.

Other detrimental ingredients

Talc isn’t the only ingredient to be upset about; cosmetic companies load their make-up with alcohols, oils, dyes, parabens, glycerin and more. All of these ingredients cause negative skin reactions and irritation. But all of this can be avoided with mineral make-up.

A healthy alternative

No allergic reactions

You will not and cannot be sensitive or allergic to mineral make-up. This make-up line was originally acquired to do the post-op covering of bruises and the like, to get patients back to their lives faster. But we find it is very beneficial for daily make-up use.

It keeps your skin free of contaminants and toxins that can blemish or age your skin. Also, loose minerals are inert or non active so they can not support bacterial growth. This provides mineral make-ups with a much longer shelf life than regular cosmetics and it prevents oily or acne prone skin from being subjected to bacterial breakouts caused by traditional make-up.
