To ensure your comfort, you’ll see the same faces-physician, nurses, and staff-throughout your time at the Duke Aesthetic Center. It allows us to become as knowledgeable as possible about your medical history and to know you better personally.
Selecting your Physician
Selecting your physician is one of the most important steps in pursing aesthetic services. There are many physicians performing procedures these days, and there can be quite a difference in their level of experience and expertise. We encourage you to check into the qualifications of any and all physicians you consider.
Look for Board Certification
Board-certified physicians have had extensive training, passed rigorous tests, and completed a minimum number of hours before beginning practice. Physicians may be board certified in a range of fields including ones outside of plastic surgery. It is important to ask your physician if your physician is board certified in plastic surgery.
Check for Relevant Skill Sets
Technology has come a long way in the last few years, improving safety, recovery times, and results. Duke specialists are on the forefront of the latest medical techniques in every area of aesthetics. Additionally, they use the most advanced equipment available, making for the safest possible environment.
Seek Out Team Players
The physicians at Duke are part of a multidisciplinary team that includes highly skilled plastic surgeons, oculoplastic and refractive ophthalmologists, dermatologists, anesthesiologists, and nurses. Not only do you have specialists to support every aspect of your procedure, you’re also benefiting from their combined knowledge and experience.
Find a Physician with Whom You’re Comfortable
You should be able to speak openly with your physician. At Duke, we consider the relationship between patients and their team of specialists to be of utmost importance. For this reason we have an ongoing informative process, including seminars and personal consultations, that last throughout your recovery.
