Shop Cart Program

Shop Cart volunteers make rounds on hospital floors with our gift shop cart. The cart is loaded every day with popular gift shop items and toiletries, and transported to patient floors.

The cart service provides comfort to many that do not have access to the gift shops due to physical limitations. Duke staff members enjoy this cart as well, as the hospital is busy and many employees cannot leave their workstations.

It is a rewarding volunteer position because most patients enjoy the specialized service and convenience of the cart. When you put a smiling face with it, that just tops it off! The staff, patients, and families will thank you for it!
