Patient Advocate Volunteer Program

Volunteers with this program focus on helping our patients have a more comfortable hospital stay.

Opportunities

Adult Patient Advocate Volunteer

Working from a roster provided by clinical staff, these volunteers visit patients weekly and respond to a wide variety of non-medical requests patients may have -- anything from information about hospital and community services, to serving as a witness for advance directives (usually referred to as a Living Will or Power of Attorney) or answering the question "how do I get a daily newspaper?"

Pediatric Patient Advocate Volunteer

Visit children and their families who've been admitted to the hospital. Working from a census furnished by staff, these volunteers visit as soon as possible after admission and focus on supporting the child and family during their hospital stay.
