DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke University Medical Center has won a
Consumer Choice award for providing quality healthcare and was
recognized as the most-preferred hospital in Durham and Raleigh
in a nationwide consumer survey by the National Research
Corporation. Winning facilities rank highest in their areas
based on consumer perceptions of multiple quality and image
ratings.
Winners appear in the Sept. 20, 2004, issue of Modern Healthcare
magazine. The award recipients are selected from a national
consumer health care profile called the National Research
Corporation Healthcare Market Guide. Data in the Market Guide
represent consumer surveys from nearly 140,000 U.S. households.
This is the ninth year the National Research Corporation has
given awards to hospitals chosen as having the highest quality
and image in 154 markets throughout the U.S.
