The following memo was sent on Sept. 16 to the Duke Medicine community from William J. Fulkerson, MD, MBA, CEO, Duke University Hospital and vice president for acute care, Duke University Health System:

After being postponed due to anticipation of bad weather, the concert to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina has been rescheduled. The event will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the American Tobacco Amphitheatre. Please encourage your co-workers, family members and neighbors to come out to support this important fundraising event. The concert, which will feature performances by the Directors of Jazz from Duke, North Carolina Central University and UNC-Chapel Hill, is free. Cash donations will be accepted, and proceeds from the sale of Mardi Gras masks and beads will go toward the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Fund.

Please post and share the flyer attached to this message. More information will also be posted on American Tobacco’s Web site at: American Tobacco District Events
