What Is RSS?
RSS
(Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based content format that
allows websites to syndicate (share) news and news-like
content.
Software called news aggregators (or readers) can be used to
download, organize, and read RSS feeds. A news
aggregator can be a useful tool to help you keep up with the
latest news from multiple different websites in one place.
There are many free and commercial aggregators available for
download.
Our RSS Feeds
DukeHealth.org currently
offers multiple RSS feeds ranging from
news items to advice for parents. Below is the list of current
RSS feeds
available.
Terms of Use
RSS
feeds are provided by dukehealth.org that contain XML-formatted
article headlines for consumption by visitors using news
aggregators. These are the terms of use that govern your use of
this service. These feeds are copyrighted as noted in the feed,
and are also subject to DukeHealth.org's usage policy and privacy practices. Duke
University Health System reserves the right to change these
terms at any time without notice.
Use of the Feeds
RSS is
provided as a free service to visitors for non-commercial and
private use, only. These feeds must be used as-is, with no
editing allowed of the feeds, which includes:
- Modifying textual content of the feeds -- headlines,
summaries, etc.
- Insertion of new content -- including ads, new links,
images, etc.
Requests for uses not allowed by these terms may be
submitted via the form at the bottom of the Contact Us page.
Presentation of Feeds
RSS
feeds must be displayed in a manner such that links to the
associated dukehealth.org web page are preserved, unmodified,
and functional. No intermediate pages (splash pages) may be
between the RSS link and the related
DukeHealth.org Web page. The links' URLs may not be modified,
and must be presented as received via the RSS feed.
Ownership and Rights
Duke University Health System (DUHS) retains full ownership
and all rights to these RSS feeds and the content
to which they link. DUHS assumes no liability for your
activities related to the usage of these feeds, whether on your
website or otherwise. DUHS reserves the right to discontinue or
modify these feeds at any time and without notice, and to
require you to cease the display, or any other usage, of the
RSS feeds
for any reason.
